The fixed blade for all things.
The Schoph Elko is a winner, complete with the laser-etched snake graphic and Schoph's signature on the blade. The Elko comes equipped with a fully capable yet compact stainless-steel blade and a pry bar that doubles as a key ring, bottle opener, screwdriver and pry tool – helping you stay prepared for whatever the day throws your way. A sleek form keeps things minimal, while a serviceable construction ensures it will always be ready when you need it. Your keys just got a new best friend.

I had been eyeing The Hell Gap for a while, however based on other reviews, the sheath both looked and felt like an afterthought to the design of the knife. This collaboration with Schoph added a solid leather sheath, which solidified my choice to purchase it. I agree with another reviewer that the handle weight is a little heavy, but otherwise it is a solid knife. The serrations on the back provide a good contact point for your thumb when you need to add a little extra pressure, with no concern for slipping. All in all a good sized knife that will work well at camp. Was this helpful?

I accidentally order this instead of the regular Hell Gap. I wasn't aware of Schoph and really liked his stuff once I looked into it. That said, the snake is not my style and that's on me for being hasty and oblivious when checking out online. The brass handle is an excellent touch, for me it throws the weight off slightly but feels amazing in hand. It's almost too nice of a knife to use, I'm sure I'll get over that in time.
I do have a tanto as well as a drop point Chapter, so who knows, maybe I'll get the Micarta Hell Gap I meant to buy eventually too.
