That’s why we created the Stilwell; the TJB take on the compact pen. It’s small in size, but punches well above its weight class. With its minimal form, it will easily ride in your pocket all day, but when it’s time to do work the Stilwell is all business.

Details Matter
The Stilwell fits perfectly in your coin pocket, but it’s easily deployed with one hand using the removable lanyard. The lanyard tucks away inside the cap when in use, and is designed to be rattle-free. To ensure that the Stilwell writes well in whatever conditions you get yourself into, we use a black D1 roller-ball ink cartridge. The D1 cartridge is ubiquitous; easily found all over the world. With its titanium or aluminum construction, it’s designed to stand up to hard daily use. The Stilwell uses a triple O-ring construction to securely lock the cap in place, in both the open and closed positions.

I journal off and on and like to see a pen as more of a daily tool than anything. My journal consists largely of my experiences and seeing the brass on this pen age as I use it weirdly drives me to journal more frequently. It's like its along for the journey, collecting its own experiences through patina and scratches. The weight of it alone makes it feel more like a companion to the journal and I actually don't even want to write with any other pen unless its with this one.
Wow, got pretty deep there for a pen review... Time to put the coffee away...

Absolutely love this pen, picked it up after having issues with the quality and customer service form a different EDC company which will remain nameless. I reached out to JAMES and discussed my concerns due to the other pen, the customer service line was quick to say they stand behind their product and would help me out if I had any issues.
I’ve used my pen daily for the last week or so, writes smoothly and without issue. The compactness is great as it fits in my pocket or little edc pouch without any footprint.

The pen works great, super lightweight, great to carry, you never know it’s there, only gripe is they should’ve put the lanyard attachment to the cap side. Not the back of the pen side. Makes no sense to carry it connected to anything this way due to having to remove it completely from what it’s carried on. If the lanyard hole was on the cap side you could remove pen from keychain while having lid still attached. All in all it still works great just limits how I carry it. I was stoked to see it had a lanyard carry option just bummed when I put it to use and realized thus.

I've always wanted to carry a pen but they always break in my jeans pocket from doing everyday things. I really like that this one is so small but can be turned into a full size pen. The triple oring design isn't the greatest as it's nearly impossible to open, I've had several friends that couldn't do it, and you need a hard surface to shut it or it won't usually go past the second oring. Aside from that I like it a lot though.
